Summer camp is more than a tradition in Girl Scouting. It’s a time when girls create fond memories and develop life-long skills and traditions. Camping is a great way for girls to explore leadership, build skills, and develop a deep appreciation for nature. Whether for a day, a week, or longer, Girl Scout camp gives girls an opportunity to grow, explore, and have fun under the guidance of caring, trained adults.
Girl Scout Summer Camp is a fun, exciting experience that follows the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, developed by and for girls. In this a safe, all-girl setting where girls embrace the opportunity to:
Gain confidence
Spread their wings and develop a sense of independence
Learn how to work as a team and discover how to take action to create positive impact in our community
The open space of the outdoors, combined with the calming effects of nature and the opportunities for new experiences and growth create an ideal setting where girls can explore, observe, learn, and give back to their peers and their communities.
When girls go to Girl Scout Summer Camp, they
Discover that they can better solve problems and overcome challenges
Develop leadership skills, build social bonds, and are happier overall
Become team players and care more about protecting our environment
According to the Girl Scout Research Institute, when girls spend quality time outdoors and increase their exposure to nature, they thrive physically, emotionally, and intellectually. And monthly exposure, high adventure, and repeat camp attendance are key drivers of girls’ leadership and satisfaction.
