GSTF Trailblazers
Girl Scouts Trailblazers have had a bold history in Girl Scouts since the mid-1950s. This special interest group develops girls’ outdoor and trail-based skills in topics including:
- Trail hiking
- Primitive camping
- Caving
- Rock climbing
- Taking action in parks and wilderness areas
Our goal is to provide older girls, 8th grade through 12th grade, with opportunities to experience high adventure on the trails and in the wilderness while developing technical and leadership skills. Girls can still benefit from traditional Girl Scouting, including the cookie program, badge earning and highest awards, with their home troop, and earn their Trailblazer pin by attending specialty experiences.
GSTF's Trailblazers offer numerous planned and tentative activities and trips throughout the year. Our plans for membership year 2025-2026 include the following. More events may be added. Events in italic are tentative.
September 13 | Try Trailblazers Table at GSLSP | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
October 25 | Try Trailblazers! Kayaking Skills Day | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
November 1 | Everglades Off-Trail Guided Hike | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
December 20-21 | Overnight Campout - Everglades National Park | Prerequisite Option 1 for June Event
January 24-25 | Overnight Campout – Location TBD | Prerequisite Option 2 for June Event
February 27-March 1 | CoastLove Cleanup and Primitive Campout at Camp Wesumkee | Open to all; Prerequisite Option 3 for June Event
February 28 | Ultimate Outdoor Skills Day | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
March TBD | Tentative- 4th weekend in March | Prerequisite Option 4 for June event.
April TBD | Tentative- 4th weekend in April | Prerequisite Option 5 for June event.
