Girl Scouts Trailblazers have had a bold history in Girl Scouts since the mid-1950s. This special interest group develops girls’ outdoor and trail-based skills in topics including:
Our goal is to provide older girls, 8th grade through 12th grade, with opportunities to experience high adventure on the trails and in the wilderness while developing technical and leadership skills. Girls can still benefit from traditional Girl Scouting, including the cookie program, badge earning and highest awards, with their home troop, and earn their Trailblazer pin by attending specialty experiences.
GSTF's Trailblazers offer numerous planned activities and trips throughout the year.
Our tentative plans for membership year 2024-2025 include the following. More events may be added.
September 14 | Try Trailblazers Table at GSLSP | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
October 19 | Try Trailblazers! Kayaking Skills Day | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
November 2 | Everglades Off-Trail Guided Hike | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
November 16 | Day Hike - Everglades National Park | This event is a Prerequisite for upcoming events.
November 23-24 | Hike and Overnight Campout- Jonathan Dickinson State Park | Open to those who completed previous Prerequisite event.
December 20-22 (tentatively) | Overnight Campout – Location TBD | Open only to those who completed previous 2 Prerequisite events.
January 11-12 | CoastLove Cleanup and Primitive Campout at Camp Wesumkee | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
March 1 | Ultimate Outdoor Skills Day | Open to all; not a prerequisite.
June TBD | Ultimate Recreation Challenge Campout- Location TBD | Open only to those who completed previous Prerequisite events.
