United Way Miami’s giving community volunteers came together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrate Black History Month through a volunteer project. The day of service benefited Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida, a longtime partner, which is celebrating its centennial year. United Way volunteers joined forces in the renovation and beautification of Camp Mahachee.
"United Way Miami is proud to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrate Black History Month by taking action through meaningful acts of service. In partnership with Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida, we created an opportunity for volunteers to come together and make a positive impact on our community,” said Celio Romanach, United Way Miami Interim SVP, Marketing and Communications. “Our joint efforts transformed Camp Mahachee into a safe and welcoming environment, providing a space for students and faculty to thrive."
Thank you to all the volunteers who came together and made a difference. Special thanks to the day’s sponsors Amazon, Baptist Health South Florida, MasTec and Wells Fargo.
