GSTF is proud to announce that Silver Award Girl Scout, Jauntre G. was recently invited to join GSUSA's National Girl Advisory Board. The Girl Advisory Board of GSUSA will work with the national office on key projects aligned with national strategy—providing critical insight and innovative ideas for serving girls in the 21st century.
Members of the board will make recommendations, contribute to key initiatives, and influence decision-making at Girl Scouts’ national office. They’ll gain valuable experience as they support and drive change at a national nonprofit organization and receive hands-on training and professional development.
Jauntre, a Girl Scout Ambassador from Troop 347, has been a Girl Scout for 15 years. She has served as a NCS delegate, she currently serves on the GSTF Board of Directors and is in the process of earning her Gold Award, which earned the Entrepreneur Challenge Winner from the Black Women’s Roundtable.
"We are so proud of Jauntre," says Chelsea Wilkerson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida. "Jauntre is inspiring. She continues to take on new challenges, push herself and those around her to the next level. We have no doubt that she will continue to create positive impacts at the national level as a member of the National Girl Advisory Board."
"Girl Scouts has made me an entrepreneur and an intelligent individual who has been inspired to do more," says Jauntre. When speaking about her Gold Award Project, Jauntrè says "When people doubt you they expect you to stop or limit what you think you can do. However, I have not allowed them to stop me. I will continue and prove that a junior in high school may impact your society and open opportunities for others."
