Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida turned 100 in 2023 and we introduced a new patch to help celebrate the past, present, and future of Girl Scouts in Miami and the Keys!
We asked girls to design a patch and a challenge that would get girls and adults to learn, explore, improve, and take action in our community. The design was inspired by Girl Scout Elena B., Troop 2022.
There were 50 activities to choose from across four categories:
- Explore local history
- See your community in a new way
- Help your community
- Dream up a green future for our community.
Depending on their age level, girls completed a set number of activities within each of the categories. Everyone in the community – Girl Scouts, alums, adults – was welcome to participate and earn the patch. The Centennial Patch Challenge kicked-off in September 2022 at GIRL Fest and ran through December 2023.
