Join us for Season 4 of our Women in STEM series! This month's
featured speaker is Sarah Wilson, a biomechanical and robotics
engineer turned cloud developer, whose adventures have taken her from
competitive ski hills all the way to the South Pole! Sarah always knew
she wanted to be a scientist, but which kind was the big question! She
explored everything from geology to astronomy, all while skiing
competitively. After earning her BS in Mathematics and MS in
Mechanical Engineering, she blended her love of skiing and science,
and launched into biomechanical engineering, helping design safer ski
equipment to reduce injuries. Next, Sarah shifted into robotics
engineering, creating and programming robots capable of working with
delicate crops. When the opportunity arose to work in Antarctica, she
didn't hesitate, she jumped right in! Join us to learn about Sarah's
fascinating journey, how biomechanics and robotics connect, and what
life is really like at the bottom of the world!
