One Friday a month, GSTF hosts a virtual fireside chat with women in STEM careers. Join us to meet Dr. Cassie Brayfield, a Materials Scientist who invents new materials - almost like a reallife wizard! Dr. Cassie is a proud Girl Scout alum who, as a kid, imagined her alterego superpower as "Dr. Science," inspired by big ideas and inventions like those from Jimmy Neutron. Today, she holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and has worked on an incredible range of projects - from computer chips and artificial sunlight to bacteria that turn carbon dioxide into biodegradable plastics and safer, more affordable batteries for electric cars. Join us to hear Dr. Cassie's story and discover why she believes materials scientists can help save the world - or at the very least, fight global warming!

Cost: $4 in council/$6 out of council fee for girls, includes mailed Central Fun Patch or rocker bar.

Badge/Patch information:

Registered Girl Scouts will receive a central fun patch for their first virtual Women in STEM event, and one rocker bar for every additional night they attend.

All attendees will complete one step of their STEM Career Exploration Badge.
