Explore a side of the Everglades that most people never get to see by getting your feet wet on an off-trail adventure! Guided by a National Park Ranger, participants will hike through a fascinating cypress dome ecosystem and discover the plants, wildlife, and unique features that make the Everglades one of the world's most remarkable wetlands.
The water depth will never be greater than participants can stand in. A ranger will provide an introduction, safety briefing, walking sticks, and guidance throughout the hike.
Participants will meet at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at 11:30 a.m. for a program overview and park introduction before traveling by car convoy to the hike location.
Required: Sturdy closed-toe lace-up shoes and long pants. Both will get wet and muddy. Participants should bring a change of clothes and be prepared to get wet and muddy up to their knees.
