Join us for Season 3 of our Women in STEM series! Our next featured Woman in STEM speaker is Dr. Rebecca Cunningham. Growing up, Rebecca loved reading and watching lightening bugs (fireflies), and planned to be an English Major. That all changed after she took a required science course that included labwork studying Muscular Dystrophy. After earning her PhD in Neurobiology, Rebecca now runs a research program that studies how hormones influence brain-degenerating diseases, such as Alzheimer's. Tune in to learn more about how Rebecca uses toys and games to study brain functions, why she thinks the differences between male and female brains are fascinating, and how her love of lightening bugs is still with her!
