Join us as we kick off Season 4 of our Women in STEM series! Our
first featured Woman in STEM this year is Amie Gallagher, a
planetarium director at Raritan Valley Community College. As a kid,
Amie loved earth science and astronomy, but when it came time to head
to university, she chose to concentrate on English and Literature, and
Elementary Education. After graduating she orbited back into science
by first working as an educator at the Newark Museum's Planetarium, an
overnight Camp staff at Liberty Science Center in NJ, and then as a
show producer and educator at the Hayden Planetarium in NYC. As a
planetarium director at RVCC, she creates and presents planetarium
shows to inspire and educate school groups and the public. Tune in to
find out what Amie thinks is the coolest object in the night sky, see
her stuffed planet collection, and learn the celestial names of her
two dogs!
