The Girl Scout Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable—proof that not only can she make a difference, but that she already has.

Seniors and Ambassadors who earn the Gold Award tackle issues that are dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. Think of the Gold Award as a key that can open doors to scholarships, preferred admission tracks for college, and amazing career opportunities.

Did you know that there are college scholarship opportunities just for Gold Award Girl Scouts? It's no surprise - organizations want to support the future Go-Getters, Innovators, Risk-Takers and Leaders in our community, and by the time you put the final touches on your seven-step project, you'll have solved a community problem—not only in the short term, but for years into the future.

José Milton Foundation Advancing Women in STEM Gold Award Scholarship - Local Scholarship through GSTF

The José Milton Foundation is committed to closing the opportunity gap and improving the quality of life for South Floridians through investments in education, research, and access to quality medical care. Inspiring capable, confident, and courageous girls of character to choose STEM disciplines helps ensure creative and ethical solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems. The José Milton Foundation Advancing Women in STEM Scholarship seeks to encourage academically talented and highly motivated Girl Scouts earning a Gold Award in a STEM area to pursue a degree/career in a STEM field. In offering this Scholarship, the José Milton Foundation aims at greater diversity within the STEM workforce and STEM leadership. Applications are due April 30, 2022.

Jackson Health System Gold Award Scholarship - Local Scholarship through GSTF

Jackson Health System is a proud partner of Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida and seeks to award a scholarship to a Gold Award Girl Scout who is interested in pursuing a career in a health-related industry. This $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to one qualified candidate. Applications are due April 30, 2022. Download the application here.

The Ortega Family Foundation Gold Award Scholarship - Local Scholarship through GSTF

The Ortega Family Foundation is committed to supporting the Miami community through service and philanthropy. As a partner of Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida, the Ortega Family Foundation seeks to award a scholarship to a Gold Award Girl Scout who is interested in pursuing a career in business or entrepreneurship. This $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to one qualified candidate. Applications are due April 30, 2022. Download the application here.

Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation Scholarship

The Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation is dedicated to preserving the memory of Corinne Schillings, a 26-year-old woman who lost her life in the Baltimore Water Taxi accident on March 6, 2004.

Scholarship: The foundation will award scholarships to deserving young women who have earned the Girl Scout Gold or Silver Award and who plan to or are currently pursuing a college major or minor in foreign language. This scholarship is renewable.

Grant: The foundation will provide an airfare stipend for a Silver or Gold Award Girl Scout who plans to study abroad, regardless of her major/minor. It is not necessary to be a scholarship recipient to apply for this one-time grant; nor are scholarship recipients excluded from applying. This grant is not renewable.

Society of Women Engineers

The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women studying baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science.  See additional information here.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Scout of the Year Scholarship

Annually, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States awards three individuals who are: Eagle Scouts, Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, Venture Summit Award recipients and/or Sea Scout Quartermasters who have risen above their peers in exemplifying the qualities of that rank. Girl Scouts who are currently registered and have earned the Gold Award are eligible to apply.

 The Scholarship Awards are as follows:

• $5,000 1st place National scholarship

• $3,000 2nd place National scholarship

• $1,000 3rd place National scholarship

Girl Scouts should download and submit a completed VFW Scouting Scholarship form, resume of high school activities, scouting record, community service record and letters of recommendation to a local VFW Post; a local VFW Post can be identified by zip code at www.vfw.org

Hiram College Scholarships

Hiram College, in conjunction with Girl Scouts of the USA, is excited to announce new scholarships that recognize personal motivation, service to others, and high achievement. As part of the agreement, exemplary Girl Scouts who have earned a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Award; been referred to Hiram by their troop leader as a strong match for Hiram College; and have been admitted to the College will be awarded a substantial Hiram College Scholarship.
