Start your fun Girl Scout adventure today.

At Girl Scouts, your girl will discover what sparks her curiosity — whether that's butterfly walks, stargazing, launching a rocket, or diving into robotics. With experiences tailored to her grade level, she’ll make new friends and become part of a community that supports your whole family. There's a place for every girl here.

The next Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027. Annual membership dues are $65 for girl members and $30 for adult members. Additional local fees and discounts may apply. Financial aid may be available. Girl Scout memberships must be renewed annually.

Frequently asked questions toggle arrow

What is Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is more than an activity—it’s a national youth organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Why do girls love being Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts helps girls develop confidence by trying new things and overcoming challenges. In addition to learning about STEM, outdoor skills, entrepreneurship, and more, Girl Scouts also discover ways to strengthen their families and communities, making them kinder and better for everyone. Girls can truly be themselves at Girl Scouts and find a sense of belonging.

How does it work?
Groups of Girl Scouts, called troops, typically meet weekly or every other week for an hour or two. Guided by adult volunteers, troop members choose hands-on activities and projects that excite them, try new things, and cheer each other on. Together, they earn badges to celebrate their successes and show the world what they’re made of. Girl Scouts can also participate in shorter program series, local events and camp, and on their own as an Individually Registered Member (IRM), also known as a Juliette. Individually Registered Members can earn badges and more based on their own schedule and interests.

Joining as a Juliette is great for Girl Scouts without a troop available nearby or who want to enjoy Girl Scout programming with their family. They can get started right away by earning badges independently or attending events to meet other Girl Scouts in their area.

What’s the goal?
When girls are able to truly be themselves, they shine brightly, form authentic friendships, and can use their unique powers to make the world a better place.

Who can join?
Girls in grades K–12 can join Girl Scouts. Adults who are 18 or older can join as members or volunteers after passing a background screening.

How can I get started?
When you're ready, you can join Girl Scouts at any time. The Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1 to September 30. Annual membership dues are $65 for girl members and $30 for adult members—plus any applicable council fees. A Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1 through September 30 of the following year, but you can join or renew early in April each year. Get started today.

Is Financial Assistance available?
Yes! Financial assistance is available to girls and adult members.

What is Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is more than an activity, it's a Movement dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Why do girls love being Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is a way of life that brings out the best in your girl, even in the most challenging of times. While they're learning about STEM, the outdoors, entrepreneurship, and important life skills, Girl Scouts are also discovering new ways to make their family and community stronger, kinder, and better for everyone.

How does it work? What's a "troop"?
Groups of Girl Scouts, called troops, typically meet weekly or every other week for an hour or two. Together, they earn badges to reflect their successes and show the world what they're made of.

What's the goal?
Making sure girls are given the opportunity to reach their full potential by developing values and skills that will lead them to happier lives.
