Girl Scouts Take Over The Miami Herald (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Who: Senior/Ambassadors
What: Come take a building tour and learn about different careers within the field of Media and Communication. What simple acts can lead to powerful and positive changes in the world? Discuss this and career possibilities with a panel of Herald Executives and fellow Girl Scouts.
When: Tuesday, November 6th from 9am - Noon
Where: The Miami Herald & El Nuevo Herald One Herald Plaza Miami Fl 33161
Why: Seniors will complete the one step for the Investigation Badge and Ambasadors will complete a portion of step 3 for Sage Award -It’s your Planet Love it-“Justice”

UP, UP And AWAY! (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
Who: Juniors
What: TRAC (Team Ropes Adventure Challenge) program fosters team building and enthusiasm in groups focusing on team concepts. Girls work together to solve structured problems in a fun, adventure based setting. When: Saturday, November 10th 9:00am-1:00pm

Why: Juniors should carpool to this event, as they earn the Energize award - It’s Your Planet Love it-“Get Moving”

IGirl STEM Initiative: Troop Series #2 (10:00 AM)
Who: Juniors and Cadettes, girls in grades 4-8
What: A weekend of fun STEM activities and sisterhood.
When: Saturday, November 10th from 10am – Sunday, November 11th at 1pm
Where: South Dade TBA
Why: Girls will earn a STEM Patch and a certificate. Most Importantly girls will be inspired and encourage to become the next generation of inovators in the STEM-related fields. To complete the program the girls MUST attend an iGirl STEM Initiative-Series then participate in an iGirl STEM Initiative-Event. Non-Girl Scouts will receive FREE membership.

Thanksgiving Food Drive (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM)
Who: EVERYONE
What: Each troop is asked to bring completed paper bags to the food drive. At the event, each girl will be coloring and decorating the bags. It is our goal to be able to provide for 200 families in the South Miami Community. Snacks will be provided. All troops are asked to bring completed paper bags or reusable bag (PLEASE NO PLASTIC BAG) of the following: 1 Box of: Stuffing (6 oz), Instant Potatoes (19 oz), Corn Muffin Mix (19 oz), Brownies (19 oz), Gravy Packet, 1 Can of: Yams (28 oz), Corn (15 oz), Peas (15 oz), Green beans (15 oz), Cranberries (sauce) 15 oz) & Fruit Cocktail (15 oz).
When: Friday, November 16th from 6:30 – 8:00pm
Where: South Miami Community Center (5800 SW 66 St)
Why: Leaders, this is a Community Service project that you can use in the “Leadership Journeys” at all levels. The goal with this activity is to show the girls how to help others in the community and our duty as Girl Scouts to help those in need.

Who: Cadette, Seniors and Ambaassadors
What: Come be a part of this unique learning experience as we explore a variety of marine programs and gain multifaceted understanding of the marine world around us. Girls will receive a brief background on the subject and then be immersed into the field of this private five-acre island.
When: Saturday, November 17th from 10am-4pm
Where: Pigeon Key Foundation & Marine Science Center
Why: It’s Your Planet-Love it!- Breathe, Sow What & Justice.
