"I attended the National Roundup in Colorado Springs in 1959. I learned so much about the environment, living softly on our land, and loving the wilderness from my canoeing, sailing and camping experiences. I also learned how to work in a group-everything from trenching a tent in the rain in the middle of the night, to forecasting the weather based on dew and temperature and clouds."

"Our troop prepared and served breakfast at Ronald McDonald House which provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost! The girls sang Scout songs while they served and learned the power of teamwork."
