100th Anniversary of the Girl Scout Gold Award

SUNDAY, MAY 1, 2016 | 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
THE BILTMORE MIAMI-CORAL GABLES | 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables, FL

2016 marks the 100th Anniversary of the Gold Award, which is the highest award presented to girls in Girl Scouting who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership through projects that have sustainable impact in the community and beyond.

Because of this monumental anniversary, the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida will be lifting up and honoring their class of 2016, totaling 50 girls who have earned their Gold Award and who are helping make our community a better place. On Sunday, May 1, 2016 we will applaud the Class of 2016 Gold Awardees during our “Girls Change the World” themed luncheon at the historic Biltmore in Coral Gables. This event will bring local attention to the amazing work of Girl Scouts right here in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties and the impact they’ve made to our communities. The Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida are nationally ranked achieving one of the highest percents at 13% of eligible girls, completing the Gold Award against a national average of 5.4%.

We are proud to share that the proceeds of this event will directly benefit girls who are Girl Scouts in the family housing developments in Miami Dade County. These girls are truly in need of all the empowerment and leadership benefits that Girl Scouting has to offer.
