Benefits of Volunteering
The Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida depends on volunteers to provide girls with the best leadership experiences. Volunteers come to us with various skill sets from a wide range of backgrounds. Whether you are 18 or 100, a former Girl Scout or new to the organization, a student or established professional, single or married, have children or no children, male or female - there is a place for you to guide girls in discovering their personal best!
Think it’s a full year commitment? Think again! Whether you volunteer for one hour or one year, you’ll have fun while inspiring and mentoring girls, teaching a new skill, building long-lasting friendships, giving back to the community, and being recognized and celebrated for your contributions, while also adding to your own personal development. Our council will provide all the necessary resources and training.
National Volunteer Week & Leader's Day
April 20-26, 2014 & April 22, 2014
This is a time when all Girl Scout councils across the country will take a moment to thank the numerous volunteers who give so much of their time and resources to inspire and empower girls every day. In Miami Dade and Monroe Counties, we want to recognize our 3,300 volunteers, many of whom are troop leaders. Without our valuable volunteer force and their wealth of skills, passion, and drive for our Mission, there would be no Gilr Scouts in our community.
