    Volunteer Support Specialist

    Position Summary
    Communicate with, engage, and support volunteers in designated region so that volunteers are sufficiently prepared for their roles

    Essential Job Duties
    •Coordinate support and resources for existing and new volunteers, after the point of placement/onboarding to including: Welcome, Background check, and Registration
    • Monitor troops and participation in order to maintain Troop and Volunteer Opportunity catalogs
    • Monitor requests for volunteer development opportunities, and provide and/or arrange trainings and training materials including the development of all curriculums and content delivery.
    • Maintain volunteer certification/training records and remind when updates/trainings are needed
    • Process volunteer forms according to council procedures
    • Maintain relationships with volunteer trainers, including tracking preferences and availability
    • Maintain adult and volunteer recognitions
    • Answer volunteer questions via phone, email, etc. in a professional and timely manner
    • Track and respond to interest calls/leads and refer to Membership Recruiters as necessary
    • Resolve conflicts
    • Send individual and group communications to volunteers
    • Support council, regional and functional efforts including back up for front desk operations

    Major Accountabilities
    • Keep Troop and Volunteer Opportunity catalogs, training records and materials updated
    • Meet specific task metrics, such as Troop Finance Summaries received
    • Ensure training needs are met in the region
    • Improve volunteer retention rate and satisfaction rate (measured through annual survey)
    • Resolve cases

    • Occasional weekends and evenings
    • Up to 25% travel
