Girl Scouts 101
The 101st birthday of Girl Scouts on March 12 commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia. Since then, more than 60 million girls have participated in the Girl Scout Movement, and that number keeps growing as Girl Scouts of the USA continues to inspire, challenge, and empower girls everywhere.
In honor of our 101 years, we are launching “Girl Scouts 101 - Getting Back to Basics” with 101 Days of Giving from March 12 - June 20! We hope you will consider being part of this initiative by making a gift to help continue our mission and further our programs. We want the next 101 years to be even better!
Provide your donation through any of the FOGS Fund options below. Thank you!
Friends of Girl Scouting (FOGS) Fund
Girls throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties are depending upon us –you and me – to make their Girl Scout experience educational, rewarding, and fun! To carry out our mission of helping girls we rely on donors. The Friends of Girl Scouting (FOGS) Fund was established to provide vital philanthropic support to the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida. Every contribution helps girls in our neighborhoods to become our future leaders.

Please contribute $10 by texting GIRL to 85944 to help our Council reach our goal of $5,000 to enhance our camp facilities. If the goal is reached, a local foundation will match the gift.
The Centennial Campaign
The Girl Scouts of the USA has mandated each council to develop 6 months of cash reserves by the end of 2014. As Girl Scouting celebrates its 100th anniversary and looks forward to its next 100 years, this measure will ensure that our council can continue to provide programs and services to all Girl Scouts. If you would like to participate, please complete and mail The Centennial Campaign Pledge Card.
The campership fund allows girls who need financial assistance to attend our resident camp. This support allows girls to have an awesome summer experience at camp.
The Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida seeks to raise funds for endowment growth and other special projects and purposes. We challenge you to make a larger gift, to stretch beyond your regular amount. Such gifts may come from savings or brokerage accounts and represents a significant contribution.
Matching gifts are a great way to increase the value of your donation. Simply complete the paperwork with your emplyer and then let us know. We will take care of the rest for you.
Memorials & Tributes
You may make a gift of celebration to recognize a graduate or someone's anniversary, a memorial gift in memory of a loved one or friend, or a tribute gift to honor a girl, adult volunteer, family member or friend.
A planned gift is a donor's commitment to benefit Girl Scouts through a gift that takes effect at death or after a term of years. You can play a key role in the future of Girl Scouting by including the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida in your estate plans.
Stocks and Securities
Gifts of securities afford donors an attractive means of giving to Girl Scout Council of Tropical Flordida. Donors receive a tax deduction for the market value of the securities, computed on the day of their transfer, while avoiding payment of capital gains on the stock's appreciated value.
